Nathan EnglanderEnglander made an astonishing literary debut at age twenty-nine with his best-selling, award-winning short story collection For the Relief of Unbearable Urges (1999). Then fans had to wait eight years for his first novel, well worth the anticipation: set in Buenos Aires during the 1970’s when Argentina’s “Dirty War” caused thousands of citizens to be disappeared at the hands of the military government, Kaddish and Lillian Poznan enter the nightmare when their son is hauled away.
